Diagenode is a Belgian Biotech developing novel Epigenetics research tools. Diagenode has its own new and dynamic R&D Epigenetics Department in Belgium and works in close collaboration with Epigenetics Academic Research labs in Europe. 1/ We focus on Epigenetics and in 2006, we worked more precisely on Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP).

At the moment, we offer the Bioruptor (to shear the chromatin), ChIP grade-antibodies, antibody binding beads, chromatin shearing kits and three ChIP kits (TF, Histone, OneDay). Although ChIP is a very versatile tool, the procedure requires tedious optimization of several reaction conditions.

The goal of Diagenode is to provide kits with optimized reagents and simplified protocols for ChIP. Each kit is designed to provide a different set of optimized tools allowing the researchers to approach ChIP assays based on their own needs and equipment. We are developing the FewCells ChIP and the Magnetic ChIP.

We will also soon offer a Native ChIP kit. In general, ChIP is to become easier, quicker, more HTP, more efficient, more sensitive, more simple to analyse. 2/ We are also busy with antibody production and characterisation. We produce antibodies directed against targets that are relevant to the Epigenetics field. We purify and characterize our antibodies by cross reactivity tests (dot blots and ELISA), IF and ChIP. We will develop an Antibody Control Kit, as we are aware of the variations of antibody quality from batch to batch. 3/ Moreover, we are now starting to develop new tools to be used in other Epigenetics fields besides ChIP e.g. new technologies used for the study of DNA methylation: Methyl DNA-IP amongst others.
